Investigators credit excellent description, observant officers for arrests | Crime
RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriffs Deputies say a good description by a robbery victim and observant officers led to quick arrests in the case.
Deputies charged Javon Hart and Joshua Cornelius with armed robbery Tuesday.
Sheriff Leon Lott says a woman who was staying at the Quality Inn on Two Notch Road was walking back to her room when she was confronted by Hart and Cornelius with a gun. Lott says the two demanded her money and food she had just bought from a local restaurant.
Lott says after Hart and Cornelius drove away, observant deputies spotted a vehicle matching the description at the Circle K on Parklane Road. Deputies pulled the vehicle over on Brighton Hill Road and arrested them. Investigators say they found a handgun in the vehicle.
Hart and Cornelius were taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
