Sheriff: Man arrested after burglarizing 2 stores for alcohol | Crime

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man they say burglarized two businesses for alcohol.

According to sheriff’s deputies, 37-year-old Terrance Romont Miller is charged with two counts of burglary and one count each of petite larceny, grand larceny, and giving false information to law enforcement officers.

Deputies say Miller was arrested at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, on I-77 between Killian and Farrow Roads.

The report said deputies were responding to a burglary call at Killian Liquor and Wine on Killian Road when deputies received information that the suspect was traveling in an older model yellow van that had been involved in a previous burglary nearby.

An officer spotted the vehicle and apprehended Miller without incident, the report stated.

Deputies say on two occasions Miller burglarized two separate commercial businesses on Thursday, November 1, 2012:

• At 4:30 AM Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a burglary at 327 Killian Road, Suite 8 (Killian Liquor and Wine). Deputies noticed that the front glass door of the business had been broken. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that Miller had entered the business and stole 5 bottles of Hennessey, one bottle of Crown Royal, one bottle of Remy Martin, one bottle of Tequila Patron, and one bottle of Vodka Ciroc. Sheriff Lott stated that the total estimated value of the stolen alcohol and the damage to the door is $865.00.

• At 1:36 AM Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a burglary at 7300 Huntclub Road (The Food Fair). Sheriff Leon Lott stated that a concerned citizen observed a black male break the window to enter the business – this suspect was later determined to be Miller. Sheriff Lott added that Miller entered the business and stole several bottles of alcohol. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that video surveillance equipment captured Miller entering the business by force causing damage to a shelf full of liquor bottles – video also showed Miller leaving in a yellow van. Total estimated value of the alcohol and damage to the business is $8, 200.00.

Miller was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
