Blythewood High School Color Guard Best In The State | Community Spirit

The Blythewood High School Color Guard took the highly coveted first place trophy and the Bengal Battalion Drill Team placed second at the South Carolina Army JROTC State Drill Team Championship January 21 at the high school. As a result of their second place finish, the Bengal Battalion Drill Team has been invited to compete in the Brigade Best of the Best Drill Meet in North Carolina on April 14. The win also qualifies the Bengals for the National Drill Team Competition in Daytona Beach, Fla., in May, where all the best drill teams from all over the nation come to compete in drill and color guard.
The Blythewood High School Bengal Battalion Drill Team and Color Guard participated in numerous drill competitions during the fall of 2011, placing in every meet. The teams were judged by drill sergeants from Fort Jackson. Sponsors included First Citizen’s Bank, McDonalds, San Jose Restaurant, Wendy’s, Domino’s Pizza and C&P Images.
